To understand and explore dissociation we need to understand our spiritual base of our existence. We all need to dissociate from time to time to resource ourselves through the challenges of our individual lives.
Dissociation is very common to be connected with trauma and is a very successful strategy to not be overwhelmed by feelings, senses, flashbacks and body pains.
We all experience dissociation on different levels, but for those who have undergone trauma this can lead to depersonalization, derealization, numbness, avoidance, memory loss or Dissociative Identity Disorder.
The complexity of Dissociation is big and throughout this training we will explore the different sides and approaches of Dissociation which can lead to transformation and integration.
Structural dissociation of the personality is a common and normal response to traumatic overwhelm in complex trauma. It results in fragmentation of inner experience and a loss of self and thus a falling apart of one ‘s identity and sense of personal coherence. Fragmentation of one’s inner experience is a natural result.
We will study different approaches how to invite human conditions that “lost” parts can come back into a coherent whole. We will study our Autonomic Nervous System to understand how flexibility and coherence can come back as a normal life force.
In these trainings we will familiarize ourselves with a theoretical and practical understanding of dissociative phenomena. We will distinguish healthy Dissociation from unhealthy Dissociation. We will access different approaches to enable wholeness, coherence, positive reaching out and the allowance to simultaneously widen our perception of Dissociation.
